This paper will study the consequences of thesocio-political events and dispositions over Palestinian refugees from Syriafleeing the current civil war in order to find a sanctuary in the neighbouringLebanon. The core of the work inquires how a previous experience ofdisplacement serves as a social and cultural resource and questions the currentPalestinian presence in the Middle East. Moving from these interrogatives, Itried to shed a light over the way the concept of “Palestine” seems to act as acatalyst for the individuals in determining how their own identity of “doublerefugees” is shifting nowadays. I argue that the current emigrations towardsEurope constitute a pattern in redefining assumption concerning Palestinianrefugees’ relations with national memory and collective spaces. Trying to connect refugees’ narratives aroundnational identity and identity documents, I will show how the currentinternational refugee legal system is structurally inappropriate to effectivelydeal with stateless persons who currently find themselves once more on the way.
