N2  - Since the acceptance ofprofessionalism in Turkish football, there have been various applications offoreign player quotas. The number of foreign players in Turkey's top football leaguehas not been below 10% during the last 22 football seasons (1995-2017) and hasreached to its maximum with 50,5% during the 2016-2017 season. Especially withthe 2011-2012 season, the foreign player rates in Turkish football has reachedover 30% which brought many discussions to daylight. The most importantargument is regarding the application of a quota with/without a limit toforeign players. This ongoing discussion has reached to an end point with theformation of rules that can be described as player freedom during the 2015-2016season. In the light of this information, the aim of this study is to analysethe limitation rules on foreign players of Turkish football since 1951 and topresent the opinions of Turkish football players regarding the foreign playerlimitations. The population of the research consists of approximately 3109Turkish footballers who continue their professional career in the ProfessionalFootball League of Turkey during the 2015-2016 football season. The sample ofthe research consists of 301 professional Turkish footballers who agreed torespond to the questionnaire sent to them. The obtained data were turned intotables with the help of arithmetic mean, percentage and frequency analyses.Upon completion of the research, the extracted data were evaluted under fivedifferent subject topics that are setup organisations, the chance of Turkishplayers to find uniforms, Turkish football economy, the quality of Turkishfootball leagues and familiarity of Turkish football.
