N2  - TheDemocrat Party, came to power by ending the one-party government of RepublicanPeople's Party's with elections of 14 May 1950. While the DP, which had endedthe RPP's 27-year rule, tried to show a strong stance during these periods; theRPP, started to watch hard politics against power. When the disputes betweenthe DP and the others in 1959 reached the line phase; RPP General Secretary KasımGülek and accompanying him organized a trip to Çanakkale for 36. anniversary ofRPP. Some people who speak here insulted the DPs by declaring the DPsgovernment illegitimate. Altough it wasn't in their programs; the delegationalso wanted to go to Geyikli. Despite the appeal of the governor, Delegationwent to Geyikli on September 11, 1959. The delegation caused hard discussionsbetween parties, which gathered here for official meeting of DP and RPP. Thisstudy aims to reveal negative situations in Geyikli by comparing national presswith the data of Prime Ministry Republican Archives.
