Advantages of PV systems were investigated from an environmental and economical point of view. Emissions of PV systems over its life cycle, greenhouse gas emissions saving by using PV systems and CO2 pay back time of PV systems were given in comparison with traditional power systems. Furthermore, application areas of PV systems and some examples were investigated along with programmes that promote to use PV systems in the world.
