AB  - Son zamanlarda yapılan ve erken modern dönemOsmanlı toplumunda gayrimüslimlerin idari, ekonomik, sosyal ve entelektüelalanlardaki varlığına taze bir bakış açısıyla yaklaşan çalışmalar, Müslüman vegayrimüslim Osmanlıların bu alanlardaki çok boyutlu ilişkilerinin yalnızcaçatışma ve karşıtlıktan ibaret olmadığını göstermeye başlamıştır. GayrimüslimOsmanlı esnaf ve tüccarlarını ele alırken ikili karşıtlıklar kuran yaklaşımlarıbir yana bırakarak, onların çok boyutlu ilişki ağlarına, toplum içindeki fonksiyonlarınave toplum-merkezi idare arasındaki aracı pozisyonlarına odaklanmak, dahaverimli sonuçlar elde etmemize yardımcı olacaktır. Bu çalışmanın amacı da erkenmodern dönem Ortodoks İstanbul kürkçülerini, Osmanlı toplumundaki ilişkiağlarına ve nüfuzlarına odaklanarak, Ortodoks Osmanlı çalışmaları açısındandeğerlendirmektir.

N2  - Recent studies on Ottoman non-Muslims in the early modern period have started to illustrate the multi-dimensional character of the relations between Muslims and non-Muslims. Focusing on their presence in the administrative, economic, social and intellectual areas of the Ottoman society through a fresh point of view, it became apparent that the relationship was beyond mere conflicts and binary contrapositions. Indeed, leaving behind the binary classifications in approaching the Ottoman guildsmen and merchants, and focusing instead on their multi-dimensional networks and their intermediary position between the society and the central administration yields more fruitful conclusions. The purpose of this study is to examine the Orthodox furriers of Ottoman Istanbul in the early modern period in terms of Ottoman Orthodox studies by focusing on their networks and influence.
