N2  - In this study, thedistribution of Erzurum songs according to kırık hava and uzun havatypes, and patterns of these songs have been examined. The aim of the study wasto define the general features of Erzurum songs from the point of culture-musicrelation through analyzing the socio-economic and cultural characteristics of theregion. Threfore this reseearch have pointed out general characteristics of theregion and conveyed ühe basic features of this region’s music culture.  This study alsoincluded geographical structure of thee region which is also dominant onculture. Through analysis of music patterns and music structure, ‘culturalidentity’ and ‘the relation of culture and music’ was also explored.
