N2  - ÖZETAmaç: Parkinson hastalığı (PH) ikinci en sık görülen nörodejeneratif hastalıktır. Hastalık boyunca,kortiko-bazal döngülerdeki bozukluklardan kaynaklanan görsel-uzaysal fonksiyonlarda bozulmameydana gelmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı; demansı olmayan PH’li hastalarda görsel-uzaysalfonksiyonları değerlendirmektir.Gereç ve Yöntemler: Demansı ve depresyonu olmayan 87 hasta çalışmaya alındı. Hastaların görsel-uzaysal fonksiyonlarını değerlendirmek için Addenbrooke kognitif testi (ACE-R) uygulandı.Hastalar Hoehn & Yahr (H & Y) evreye göre sınıflandırıldı. H & Y evresi 1-2,5 olan hastalar grup1 olarak, H & Y evre 3-5 arasında olan hastalar ise grup 2 olarak sınıflandırıldı. Ardından gruplararasında karşılaştırma yapıldı. ACE-R testinin özellikle görsel-uzaysal fonksiyonları ölçen kısmı gözönünde bulunduruldu.Bulgular: Grup 1 deki hastaların yaş ortalaması 61,13 iken grup 2’de 65,43 bulundu. ACE-R ortalamaskorları grup 1 de 12,55 saptanırken grup 2 de 8,66 bulundu. Bu fark istatistiksel olarakanlamlıydı.Sonuç: Demansı olmayan Parkinsonlu hastalarda, görsel-uzaysal fonksiyon bozukluğunun sık görüldüğüakılda tutulmalıdır. Hastalık evresi artıkça bu bozukluk daha belirgin hale gelmektedir.Bu durum Parkinson hastalığı demansı için güçlü bir prediktör olabilir.Anahtar Sözcükler: Parkinson hastalığı; Görsel-uzaysal fonksiyonlar; Addenbrook kognitifmuayenesi.ABSTRACTObjective: Parkinson’s disease (PD) is the second most common neurodegenerative disease.During PD many disturbances occur in the cortico-basal ganglia pathways and due to thesedisturbances visual perception deficits are common in PD patients. The aim of this study was toevaluate the visuo spatial functions in idiopathic Parkinson patients without dementia.Material and Methods: Eighty seven patients without dementia were included in this study.Addenbrooke’s cognitive examination (ACE-R) to measure ability of visuo spatial functions scoreand other tests were used for patients. Patients were classified according to Hoehn & Yahr (H&Y)stage. Patients who in H&Y stage 1-2.5 were classified as group 1 and patients who in H&Ystage 3-5 were classified as group 2. Then the groups were compared between themselvesto comparison. We especially considered score of ACE-R test which part include visuospatialabilities.Results: The mean age of patient group was 61.13 years in group 1 and 65.43 in group 2 patients.The ACE-R test mean score was 12.55 in group 1 and 8.66 in group 2 patinets. This resultsignificantly lower in group 2 patients without dementia.Conclusion: It should be kept in mind that visual-spatial dysfunction is frequent in Parkinsonianpatients without dementia. This disorder becomes more prominent as the disease progresses.This may be a strong predictor of dementia of Parkinson’s disease.Keywords: Parkinson’s disease; Visuospatial functions; Addenbrooke’s cognitive examination
