N2  - This study isabout the relationship between regime security and Tunisian foreign policy.State-level approaches to explaining foreign policy behavior of states claim toexplain foreign policy behavior with internal variables. One of the approachesat the state level is about the effect of regime security on foreign policy.According to this approach, states perceive the threats to regime security asthe primary threat and try to balance these threats with foreign policyinstruments. The study uses Tunisian foreign policy case study to test thisargument. In case study, the structure and operation of the Tunisian regime,the development of the Tunisian Islamic movement, perceived as a threat toregime security, and foreign policy behaviours are examined. The studyconcludes that the case confirms that regime security is effective on Tunisia'sforeign policy making.
