In part, this is due to the intrusiveness of the treatment (hemodialysis ) that is required. The objective of this study was to examine the association between quality of life and mental health problem in hemodialysis patients. Methods: Ninety-six patients with end-stage renal disease (mean age 46 years) were included in the study. All subjects were given Beck depression scale, state and trait anxiety scales and WHOQOL-BREF. Result: Hemodialysis patients had significant differences according to diagnosis time; physical and environmental domains, according to age; environmental domains, according to education levels; physical, environmental , social relations domains .There was negative correlation between WHOQOL- BREF. Score and depression score at the time of hemodialysis initiation. Conclusions: The results indicate that high psychological distress on hemodialysis is a predictor for low long-term quality of life.}, number={1}, publisher={Ege Üniversitesi}
