N2  - Giant cell fibroblastoma is a rare mesenchymal tumor of childhood having many similarities with dermatofibrosarcoma  protuberans in adults. The authors describe two cases that provide further evidence for a close, possibly histogenetic  relation between giant cell fibroblastoma and dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans. In the first case, there was a  juxtaposition of dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans and giant cell fibroblastoma within the same recurrent lesion. Second  tumor, excised as a inguinal hernia showed only areas of giant cell fibroblastoma. Immunohistochemistry showed only  vimentin positivity in giant cell fibroblastoma (GCF) areas of cases and showed vimentin and CD 34 positivity in  dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans cells.
