The pilot study wasconducted on 69 students, exploratory factor analysis study was conducted on418 students and confirmatory factor analysis was conducted on 113 students. Asa result of the EFA’s principal components techniqueses, a construct with nineitems explaining a total of 42% of the total variance was attained.Confirmatory factor analysis revealed acceptable fit for the one-dimensionalmodel (x2/sd=1.42, RMSEA=0.06, GFI=0.92, AGFI=0.88, CFI=0.95, IFI=0.96,NFI=0.87, RFI=0.83,RMR=0.03, SRMR= 0.06 ). It was also observed that the scalerevealed a negative correlation validity with impression management subscale ofsocial desirability scale. The Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficientcalculated for the whole scale was found to be 0.82 for EFA, 0.81 for DFA.After an interval of 1 month, a result of the test-retest correlationcoefficient was found to be 0.73. In another reliability study, 27% ofbottom-top group comparisons revealed significant differences in all items. Finally, the item-total correlation analysis of the relationship was examinedand found to vary between 0.46 and 0.71for EFA, 0.29 and 0.70 for DFA. Based onthese findings, we can say that the Desire of Being Liked Scale can be used inthe field of education and psychology and that it is a reliable and validmeasurement tool. CR - Akın, A. (2010).
