Yirmi altıokul öncesi öğretmen adayı çalışmaya katılmıştır. Araştırma verileri katılımcıgözlem tekniği ile toplanmıştır. Gözlemler ve gözlem esnasında sınıftaöğrenciler arasında meydana gelen konuşmalar alan notları biçimindekaydedilmiştir. Bu çalışma verilerin analizi ve yorumlanmasında Vygotsky’ninsosyo-kültürel kuramını temel almıştır. Sonuçlar grafik kullanımının bilişselyükü azaltarak ve örüntü tanılama ve örüntüden sonuç çıkarma gibi yüksek düzeyzihinsel fonksiyonların işlemesini sağlayarak okul öncesi öğretmen adaylarınınhedeflenen bilimsel kavramları anlamalarını kolaylaştırdığını göstermiştir.
