N2  - Thetourism sector, which is growing due to the intense touristic mobility fromEurope to Turkey and the investments, provides a significant contribution tothe economy. However, in recent years, due to internal and external factors,Turkish tourism has begun to experience serious problems. This study aimed toinvestigate the factors determining the tourism mobility from Europe to Turkey andto draw attention to the importance of the tourism sector in the economy. Forthis purpose, between 2000 and 2015, tourist trends from Europe to Turkey wereanalyzed using the panel data method using the gravity model. According to theresults of the estimations, the per capita incomes and populations of elevenselected European countries have been found to influence the tourist flowstowards Turkey according to the literature. On the other hand, touristic goodsand services prices and transportation costs have affected the tourist flowsnegatively. Estimates of the dummy variable representing the exchange ratechange and the 2008 global economic crisis were not statistically significant.
