N2  - The purpose of this study was to examine the job satisfaction levels of the research assistants at Physical Education and Sport Department in various Turkish universities. Participants were 96 research assistants from the School of Physical Education and Sport. Participants’ personal information and the job satisfaction levels were collected by face to face interview and/or email. The job satisfaction questionnaire was developed by Kuzgun, Sevim, and Hamamcı (1998). To analyze data, t test, Kruskal Wallis test, and Mann-Whitney U test were used depending on the variable type. The results of the study showed that the mean scores of the satisfaction levels of the research assistants were 80,02 and it could be categorized as high levels of job satisfaction. There was not significant difference in job satisfaction levels of teaching assistants in terms of age, working years, their institution, and their graduate programs. There was a significant difference in job satisfaction level (desire to develop dimension) in terms of gender.
