Method: The research population hasbeen consisted of 254 elementary and high school physical education teachers who worked in the central towns of thecity of Konya (Karatay, Meram, Selçuklu). In the research sample has been consisted of selecting with random in population who is performing 71 elementary school physical education teachers, 82 high school physical education teachers and totally 153 physical education teachers. The ‘Personal Information Form’ and the ‘Work Alienation Scale’ havebeen applied the research sample. ‘Work Alienation Scale’ is a measuring instrument including 38 item and 5 Likerttype and it has been developed by Elma (2003). The items have been grouped in sub-dimensions of powerlessness,meaningfulness, isolation and school alienation. The t-test has been used to determine whether or not there has beenany difference among the physical education teachers’ work alienation levels’ according to variables of gender, marital status, institution of employment, spouse's employment status, request to change jobs. Variance analysis (One-WayANOVA) has been used to determine whether or not there has been any difference among the physical educationteachers’ work alienation levels’ according to age and work experience. Results: This research results indicated that,physical education teachers’ powerlessness, meaningfulness, isolation and school alienation levels’ have been found low.However, it has been seen that physical education teachers’ work alienation levels’ the most in dimension of schoolalienation and the least in dimension of meaningfulness. Beside that, feelings about work alienation has been foundto be high among the performing in elementary school physical education teachers, spouse is not working teachers andteachers who want to make job changes.
