WAT and similar maximal loading tests include Verbal Encouragements (VE) to resist fatigue as an element of the protocol. However the effects of verbal encouragements with different contents on WAT performance are not studied. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of different VE contents on WAT performance. The study involved 8 well trained male participants (ZG: 15,9 ± 0,9 W.kg-1). After the adaptation sessions which involved different pedaling techniques, short time inertia flywheel loads and loaded balance sprints, participants performed a 30sec. practice WAT session. After this session research group was crossed and they were subjected to four WAT sessions including Positive Word Structured Statements VE, Negative Word Structured Statements VE, Standard VE and a session with no encouragement or statements in different days. The findings showed no significant difference between test groups (p≤0.05). These results suggest that verbal encouragement types have some effect on WAT scores. Test adaptation sessions should be considered more definitive on verbal encouragements that will be used during tests UR - http://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/cbubesbd/issue//357860 L1 - http://dergipark.org.tr/tr/download/article-file/370640 ER -
