N2  - The current account deficit, which has become the most important economic issue of Turkey's economy after 1980, has grown exponentially over the years and today it has become chronic. There are structural reasons of this issue such as lack of savings, the increase in the trade deficit, rising the import dependence of exports, increasing proportion foreign dependency in energy consumption which are peculiar to Turkey’s economy. With the concept of “it is not problem as long as financing current account deficit” which dominated the economy in recent years, rather than the size of current account deficit and measures to be taken for the solution of problem, financing the deficit and its reflections on economy have come into prominent. Such that as much as the problem itself, its financing method also has increased the fragility of the economy and led to the crisis
