A 6X4X5 cm sized giant bladdercalculus with irregular borders, and bilateral hydronephrosis were detected indirect urinary system radiography and ultrasonography. The patient underwentdiagnostic cystoscopy to eliminate bladder tumor. During the cystoscopy, thegiant bladder stone was examined, and several biopsies were taken from thesuspicious, papillary and hyperemic regions in the bladder. After thepathological examination of the biopsy materials, which was concordant with thechronic-active inflammation, an open cystolithotomy was performed and 6X4X5 cmsized 300 gr weighted, irregularly shaped bladder calculus was taken out. Thecontrol ultrasonography of the patient, who had no postoperative problems, hadrelief of his symptoms and had a normal urinary output after his urinarycatheter has been taken out, showed no residual urine in the bladder and aregression was observed in bilateral hydronephrosis. When this case and theliterature are accounted, it is to be considered that the patients having giantbladder calculus could consult to outpatient cilinics due to the urineincontinence and the calculus could cause bilateral hydronephrosis.
