N2 - Rapidly changing socio cultural environment has not diminished the importance of teachers in education. They still play a major role in shaping studentsworld. The purpose of this study is to understand if and how teachers see themselves as role models for students, examine the underlying causes of why teachers dont see themselves as role models in some cases, as weell as if teachers are awere that students see them as role models. This study is based on a descriptive research model in which two open-ended questions are used in data collection to prepare the questionnaire form. Analysis of the data obtained largely shows that teachers see themselves as role models for students. The study shows that teachers pay special attention to students personal development and character formation. It is very important that teahcers provide a good role model because of being a good role model does not only impact the students behavior but also help students lay a foundation for their future.
