N2  - Our country includes lots of restored historical structures from Selçuklu and Osmanlı era which are still used. In order to preserve these historical structures for the future community, these structures has to be restored originally. For this reason, materials having adequate performance and armony with the original structure has to be used during restoration works. In this study mechanical properties of Horosan mortar, which is used by Turkish Republic General Directory of Foundations for restoration works of historical structures, were investigated together with its performance in the masonry arches by model tests and numerical analyses. Both model tests and numerical analyses suggest that the performance of Horosan mortar is adequate for masonry arches
