Higher incidence of endocarditiswas reported among patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) from aretrospective study. We highlighted the diagnostic and management challenges ofa case of rare subacute endocarditis by Abiotrophiadefectiva in an IBD patient without predisposing valvular defect, priorcentral catheter insertion or intravenous drug abuse, suggesting guttranslocation as a possible etiology of infective endocarditis among IBDpatients.
