N2  - There are many gaps aroundand false approaches to the life and military–political activities of SüleymanPasha, the Prince of Orhan Bey, known as the conqueror of Rumelia. SuleymanPasha was the head of the armies crossing to Rumelia. This article mainlyfocuses on the fact that the mother of Süleyman Pasha was not Nilüfer Hatun butEfdenze/Efendize and that his birth date should be noted as around 1310. Thisdate is earlier than known in the literature. Furthermore, this article revealsthat his name is confused with other men named Süleyman Çelebi. Three other mennamed Süleyman Çelebi existed and had the identical titles, who endowed orfounded waqifs in the same region during different times. The sources of theperiod and the archival documents shed light upon the events of the life ofSüleyman Pasha.
