In order to make teaching Turkish easier and more systematic, scientific researches play a great role. The more Turkey gains esteem in the world, the more demand for Turkish language arises. Individuals and communities that want to establish economical, commercial, educational, and military relations will, presumably, endeavor to learn Turkish. This requires a curriculum, a state policy which aims to teach Turkish at the desired level, development of educational tools, and the preparation of reading materials. The aim of this study is to analyze and provide solutions to spelling mistakes made by Afghan students learning Turkish at the beginning level. Also, the lack of studies that aim to teach Turkish as a foreign language in Afghanistan is another factor that triggered researchers to study in this field. In this study, document analysis and compilation of documentary source models are used in accordance with qualitative research model. The researchers dissect available sources, evaluate them, and express their opinions about the mistakes and the solution proposals they have spotted. The data of the research consist of A1 level written examinations, teachers’ opinions and researchers’ observations. All the data obtained in the study are analyzed in details. As a result of the analysis, grammar mistakes were determined and classified into three groups; spelling mistakes, suffix and prefix mistakes, and lexical mistakes UR - https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/khobilim/issue//378219 L1 - https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/download/article-file/403572 ER -
