N2  - Schwannomas extending to the superior mediastinum, even when benign, present technical problems for the surgeon because of their inaccessibility and localization near to vital structures. Even though, several combined techniques which offer suboptimal access to the vascular and neural structures, were described, most of the schwannomas in this localization can be resected by transcervical approach alone. Surgical experience and domination to anatomy of this region is crucial.
