Methods: Fifty seven patients diagnosed with schizophrenia and gender and age matched 54 controls were included in the study. Positive and negative syndrome scale (PANSS) was used for general psychopathology whereas clinical global impressions scale (CGI-S),was used for measurement of functionality of patients. Total anti-oxidant (TAS) and total oxidant (TOS) status were analysed from the serums of patient and control groups. Results: There were no statistically significant difference between patient and control groups in age, gender, education level and smoking rates. TAS, TOS, oxidative stress index and demographic findings did not show significant difference in both groups regarding disease activity. There were no significant difference between positive and negative syndrome and clinical global impressions scales and oxidative stress parameters. Conclusions: The results obtained in our study did not show any difference in the value of TOS and TAS between schizophrenia and control groups. Besides, disease relationship of TAS and TOS levels between activity did not affect the UR - https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/gutfd/article/378376 L1 - https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/download/article-file/403745 ER -
