N2  - Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate relationship between pregnancy associated plasma protein A (PAPP-A), free beta-human chorionic gonadotropin (fβ-hCG) and haematological parameters and preeclampsia.Material and  Methods: Twenty-six pregnant women with preeclampsia and 26 pregnant women as control who had similar obstetrical features and gave birth between January 2011 and December 2012 at a university hospital were included to the study. PAPP-A, fβ-hCG, haemoglobin levels and platelet counts were compared between the two groups. Results: The  PAPP-A value in  preeclampsia group was lower than control (1.4±0.7 vs. 0.9±0.3 MoM) (p<0.05). There was no significant difference between the two groups for fß-hCG value. Haemoglobin levels and platelet counts were found lower in preeclampsia group when compared control group (p<0.05). Conclusion: First trimester maternal serum low PAPP-A value is an important risk factor for preeclampsia
