AB  - Amaç: Astımtedavisinde binlerce yıldır kullanılmakta olan tedaviler, modern çağdakullanılan farmakolojik tedavilerle birlikte kullanılmaya devam etmektedir.Amacımız bölgemizde astım tedavisinde Tamamlayıcı ve Alternatif Tedavide (TAT)nelerin kullanılmakta olduğunu araştırmaktır. Gereç ve Yöntem: ÇalışmamızÇocuk Alerji Polikliniğine gelen 155 (Kadın 66, Erkek 89) astımlı hastadayapılmıştır. Astımlı hastaların annelerine TAT yöntemleri kullanıp kullanmadıkları sorulmuştur. Ayrıcaannelerin eğitim durumu ve ailenin gelir düzeyi de sorularla tespit edilmiştir.Bulgular: Hastalarımızın 120’si astım tedavisinde TATyöntemleri kullanırken 35 hastamız TAT yöntemlerini kullanmamaktaydı. TAT kullanmayan35 hastanın annesinin eğitim durumu; %28,6 ilkokul ve %42,9 anne ise üniversite mezunu idi. TAT kullanan 120 hastanın annesinin eğitim durumu; %35 anneilkokul ve %25 anne de üniversite mezunu idi. TAT kullanmayan 35 hastanın aile gelir durumu; %17,1 hastadüşük, %14,3 hasta orta ve %68,6 hasta üst gelir düzeyine sahipti. TAT kullanan 120 hastanın aile gelir durumu incelendiğinde; %10hasta düşük, %15 hasta orta ve %75 hasta üst gelir düzeyine sahipti. Anneeğitim durumu veya aile gelir düzeyi ile astımda TAT yöntemleri kullanımıarasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark tespit edilemedi. En fazla kullanılan TATyöntemi baldı. Sonra sırasıyla pekmez, keçi boynozu, andız pekmezi, çörekotuyağı, zeytin yağı, nane ve limon gelmekteydi. Sonuçlar: Astımda tüm diğer kronik hastalıklar gibi, dünya genelinde yaygın birşekilde TAT kullanımı devam etmektedir. Bu nedenle biz hekimlerin TATuygulamaları hakkında daha çok araştırma yapmaya ve bilgi edinmeye ihtiyacı olduğunudüşünüyoruz.

In this study, we aimed to investigate whichproducts/materials are used in Complementary and Alternative Therapy (CAT) inasthma treatment in our region.Materialsand Methods: 155children (66 female, 89 male) who were admitted to the Pediatric Allergy Clinicwere enrolled in this study. Mothers ofchildren with asthma were asked whether they used CAT methods for their child. In addition, the education level of the mothers and income rate ofthe family were also determined by questions.Results: The educational status of the mothers of 35patients who did not use CAT; 28,6% primary school and 42,9% mothers wereuniversity graduates. The educational status of mother of 120 patients using CAT;35% of mothers were primary school and 25% of mothers were college graduates.Family income status of 35 patients not using CAT; 17,1% were low, 14,3% weremiddle and 68,6% were high income. When the family income status of 120 patientsusing CAT is examined; 10% patients were low, 15% were middle, and 75% had upperincome levels. No statistically significant difference was found between mothereducation level or family income level and the use of CAT methods in asthma. Themost commonly used method of CAT was honey. Then molasses, goathorn, molasses, cucumber oil, olive oil, mint and lemon were coming in order.Conclusion: As with all other chronic diseases in asthma, theuse of CAT still used widespread worldwide. For this reason, we think thatphysicians need to research and learn more about TAT applications.
