N2  - Cough is a common symptom in ambulatory practice and in general does not require specific treatment. Cough induced rib fracture and pneumothorax is a very rare complication. We report a case of a patient with stress fractures of the ribs induced by coughing. Severe coughing and chest pain with a sudden onset should be considered to cough induced rib fracture in emergency department
