N2  - Veterinary education in Turkey was continued at Ankara University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine until 1970, since then, 27 faculties have opened as 19 of them are active. As a 12th faculty Kırıkkale University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine was founded in 1992 and began education with 31 students and 12 academic staff in 1998. Faculty trained 272 veterinarians and also 31 veterinarians graduated from post graduated programs until 2012. Application and research activities of the faculty have been serving animal husbandary in theregion.This study was aimed at providing general information about the historical development of Kırıkkale University Veterinary Faculty
