N2  - Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Erk was appointed as the first academic member at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, of which lessons have been included in the curriculum of Veterinary since 1873. He was among the first graduates of the Veterinary Faculty of Higher Agriculture Institute. Hestarted his academic career in 1939 and took first Ph.D. degree in this field in 1946. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Erk who became an Associate Professor in 1950 and a Professor in 1958, took charge in the education of other instructorswho have worked in this field, in addition to instruction, scientific researches and academic publishing. This study aims to present the academic career of Hüseyin Erk, who has been one of the pioneers and cornerstones in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Turkish Veterinary Medicine, and to contribute to the biography archive of Veterinary Medicine
