TY - JOUR TT - Immunization Status of Turkey Health Workers for 2011-2015 AU - Atcı, Sertap AU - Tanır, Ferdi AU - Akbaba, Muhsin PY - 2017 DA - November JF - The Turkish Journal Of Occupational / Environmental Medicine and Safety JO - turjoem PB - Engin TUTKUN WT - DergiPark SN - 2149-4711 SP - 20 EP - 20 VL - 2 IS - 1(4) KW - Immunization Status of Turkey Health Workers for 2011-2015 N2 - IntroductionOne of the most effective ways to prevent diseases,injuries and deaths isimmunization.Preventable diseases are attributed to childhood diseases,but theyaffect people from all ages.In the context of adult vaccination,healthprofessionals are an important group exposed to the risk of infection duringprofessional activities.According to the "Adult ImmunizationGuide"for 2016,vaccinations recommended for healthworkers;Influenza,HepatitisA-B,Measles-Rubella-Mumps,Tetanus-Diphtheria,Varicella vaccines.MethodsOur research is descriptive study conducted between 2011-2015 by screeningstudies,records and electronic media on the vaccination of health workers.ResultsAccording to data of the year 2015,there are 787.352 health personnel inTurkey,551.559 persons in the Ministry of Health.The Ministry of Health or anyother source,no data showing the immunization status of all health workers hasbeen reached.According to studies conducted on two separate walks in 2013,itwas found that the health personnel exceeded 91,9-98,8% in terms of HBV.Inanother study conducted in 2015,although the HBV vaccination rate was 90%seasonal influenza vaccination(SIV) was 13,7% and measles vaccination rate was66,7%.Similar to this study SIV ratios were found as 8-14.5% in other studiesconducted in 2013 and 2011.Causes of low SIV vaccination in the samestudies;the fear of side effects and lack of confidence,it is stated that thevaccination of measles is the reason for the low prevalence of rash disease.ConclusionAccording to the results of regional studies only,it is stated that thehealthcare workers are the best HBV vaccine and do not give much importance tothe other vaccination.According to these studies,correcting the misinformationof health workers and increasing their awareness will encourageimmunization.There is no immunization data of the institutional staff in theMinistry of Health records.Regular enrollment of immunizations of all healthpersonnel in Turkey,including those in other public and private healthinstitutions,is necessary for the determination,protection and improvement ofhealth status of employees.  Keywords:Vaccine,immunization, health worker CR - Sertap Atcı, Ferdi Tanır, Muhsin Akbaba Cukurova University Faculty of Medicine, Public Health Department,Adana UR - https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/turjoem/issue//383653 L1 - https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/download/article-file/410827 ER -
