N2  - Known as "Karanfilli Hoca", A. Gaffar Nemutlu is an important name for Denizli Press History. Nemutlu, who had studied economics, worked as a teacher, public servant, administrator and journalist. After he had been appointed as a teacher to Denizli Ticaret Lisesi (Denizli Commercial High School), he started to write in “Denizli” newspaper. Nemutlu, who also served as a presenter with the voice of baritone in official ceremonies, performed his teaching, journalism and presenting tasks together for many years. Especially, he left a mark with the column called "Meserret", which is identified with his name, in “Şehir(The City)” and “Deha 20” newspapers. In his column, he treated issues related to politics, trade, education, culture, humor and magazine life of Denizli. The articles he wrote in his column, Meserret, are important in terms of urban history. Nemutlu served as grant holder and editor in chief as well as the President of Denizli Association of Journalists. Nemutlu became the first local television commentator of Denizli as the local broadcasting had started. He lived as one of Denizli's extraordinary people with his versatile personality and carnation that he put on his collar
