Totally, 107 proximal part of femurs of the young adult males belong to 13rd century Byzantine Period were investigated for these variations. Allen’s fossa, Poirier’s facet, plaque, exostosis in trochanteric fossa and the third trochanter were observed at the rates of 1.6, 4.5, 4.5, 22.0 and 15.0 percentages respectively. Presence of third trochanter and exostosis in trochanteric fossa at higher rates in males than females were considered to be related to the hard living conditions rather than heredity.}, number={3}, publisher={Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi}
