N2  - Becoming a necessity for people, vacation is percepted as a modern life right at the same time. Vacation is an important necessity for all people, but the importance of vacation for the disabled is much more. Rehabilitation, changing atmosphere, travel which include entertainment and recreation are necessity for the disabled as well as their relatives. Disabled people, their relatives and attendants usually go on a vacation together. When the whole group is evaluated together, it creates a big market in tourism. In this article, the present practices in tourism for the disabled were researched through Turkey and the EU. In this article, considering the high potential of the disabled market in tourism, the practices and policies oriented towards the disabled were evaluated. First, information about the disabled in the EU and practices about the disabled in some EU countries were mentioned. After that, information about the disabled in Turkey and practices in the establishment of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism were given
