There are some elements which are affecting maritime trade: Globalization, trade growth, energy safety, in/stability in fuel prices, financing of ship building, freight payments, financial crisis etc. The element of those which is affecting maritime trade is the global financial crisis between 2008-2010. Crisis has changed countries’ DWT world rankings. Turkey took place herself in 16th position by 2009. According Vision2023, Turkey needs the right strategies for taking high values in maritime transport. The first one of these strategies is to be an industrial centre in ship building, and for this aim is to increase public budget and is to incentive private sector. Second, Turkey can produce goods and service in biotechnology by the fact now the biotechnological revolution living.
