In the study, it is aimed to analyze the impact of bank mergers and acquisitions that took place in a different country on financial performances of those banks. For this reason, the impact on financial performances of three cross-border bank acquisitions took place in Turkey (Denizbank, Finansbank, ING Bank) has been researched using CAMELS, a kind of ratio analysis. Comparative performance improvements of three banks to the average of commercial banks in Turkey were analyzed for the three years’ post-acquisition and three years pre-acquisition periods and the results are compared. Findings indicate that the performances of the target banks decreased in the post-acquisition periods. The results of the analysis are considered to be affected by the 2008 crisis coincided with the post-acquisition periods.
