Bu tip ağların taşıt trafiğinde kaza önleme, yol ve taşıma güvenliğini artırma, trafik verimliliğine katkıda bulunma gibi kayda değer faydalarından bahsetmek mümkündür. Bir taşıt ağının performans ve verimliliğindeki en önemli ve belirleyici unsur ağın organizasyonunda önemli bir yere sahip olan Ortam Erişim Kontrol (OEK) protokolleridir.Bu çalışmamızda Karasal Taşıt Ağlarında, veri bağı katmanında çalışarak ağın organizasyonunda görev alan çeşitli OEK protokolleri incelenmiş olup, söz konusu protokollerin iyi ve yetersiz yönleri ele alınarak etkili bir OEK protokolü tasarımında dikkat edilmesi gereken hususlar konusunda çıkarımlarda bulunulmuştur.
