This concept can be applied to education as well. Economists and other researchers have spent considerable effort trying to estimate production functions which relate students learning to costly educational inputs. Many of the studies have failed to show strong, consistent relationships between school outputs and inputs such as teachers salaries or the teacher/student ratio. It has been especially difficult to demostrate a direct connection between achievement and amount of money spent per pupil, when students’ socioeconomic bacground statistically controlled. However, analysts have also began to explore alternative research strategies}, number={1}, publisher={Ankara Üniversitesi}
