Hospital, consecutive 36 patients admitted with subarachnoid hemorrhage between January 2012 and December 2013 consisted the study population and patient records were analysed in retrospective manner. RESULTS: Patients under 18 years old, serum creatinine levels above 1.25mg/dl, those pregnant and those die early in the course of the study were excluded from the study. Fourteen patients that were given magnesium sulfate and fourteen patients who were not given were included in the study. There were 10 women, 18 men. The average age was 52±14 years. The outcomes based on Modified Rankin Scores were evaluated 3 months after SAH. Significant improvement was detected in the patients who were administrated of magnesium sulfate.DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: Adminsitration of magnesium sulfate in patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage within 4 days and lasting 2 weeks, may reduce the effects of vasospasm.
