AB  - Buçalışma hemşirelik bölümü öğrencilerinin ölmekte olan bireyin bakımına ilişkintutumlarını belirlemek amacıyla kesitsel olarak yürütülmüştür.Araştırmaörneklemi, bir üniversitenin sağlık bilimleri fakültesi hemşirelik bölümüikinci, üçüncü ve dördüncü sınıf düzeyindeki 161 öğrenciden oluşmuştur. Verilertanıtıcı özelikler bilgi formu ve Frommelt Ölmekte Olan Bireyin Bakımınaİlişkin Tutum Ölçeği kullanılarak toplanmıştır.Öğrencilerin%59,6’sı yaşam sonu bakıma ilişkin eğitim aldığını belirtmiştir. Hemşireliköğrencilerinin %45,9’ u ölüme karşı tutumun evrensel olduğunu ve ölümün doğalkarşılanması gerektiğini düşündüklerini ifade etmişlerdir. Öğrencilerin yaşlarıile ölümden kaçma davranışları arasında negatif yönde anlamlı ilişki olduğu, 3.sınıf öğrencilerinin kabul edici yaklaşım ve ölümü kabullenme alt boyutlarınındiğer sınıflara göre daha düşük olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca yaşam sonu bakımailişki bilgi alanların, Ölüm Korkusu puan ortalamaları ve daha önce ölmekteolan hastaya bakım verme deneyimi olmayanların, Tarafsız Kabullenme puanortalamaları diğer gruplara göre yüksek bulunmuştur.Öğrencilerin ölmekte olan kişinin bakımına yöneliktutumları orta düzeyde bulunmuştur. Hemşirelik öğrencilerine, ölmekte olanhastalara ve ailelerine yönelik bakım becerilerini geliştirmeleri için dahafazla eğitim fırsatı sunulması önemlidir

N2  - This cross-sectional study was conductedto determine nursing students' attitudes towards care of dying individuals.Research sample consisted of 161students at 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade level among the nursing department studentsof a university. Data were collected using the descriptive information form and“Frommelt Attitudes Toward Care of the Dying” Scale.Sixty percent of the nursing studentsstated that they are trained in end-of-life care. Forty six percent of nursingstudents stated that the attitude towards death is universal and that deathshould be regarded as natural phenomenon. There was a significant negativecorrelation between students’ age and their death-avoidance behavior. It hasbeen determined that acceptance approach and death acceptance sub-dimensions ofthird grade students were lower than the other classes. In addition, scores offear of death subscale were found higher than the other groups. Furthermore,those who didn’t have previous care experience in dying patients were found tohave higher levels of impartial acceptance subscale scores than the othergroups.Attitudes of the students towards thecare of the dying individual were found to be moderate. It is important fornursing students more education opportunities to learn more about end-of-lifecare and to develop skills in looking after dying patients and their families.
