KW - Sakin Kent KW - Seferihisar KW - Sürdürülebilirlik N2 - The formationof sustainable habitats and the preservation of these occurrences areconsidered as a phenomenon that contrasts with globalization. While theconservation of local heritage is aimed at cittaslows, globalization aims at aconstant change. At this point; it is necessary to accept the difficulty ofbuilding new cittaslows and protecting existing ones as our time is the age ofglobalization. In spite of thishallenge, the cittaslow approach is a kind that aims to preserve the originalvalues of cities in the face of globalization and to provide more habitableliving spaces. This approach should aimed at in spite of the greatest obstacleof globalization against it. From this point of view, the study first tried todetermine conceptual framework by making literature studies about the conceptof "cittaslow" which contradicts the essence of globalization. Lateron, studies on the cittaslow Seferihisar, which received the title of "thefirst cittaslow" of our country, were examined. Seferihisar’s current resistance toglobalization and how much resistance it can show in the following processeswere tried to be analysed, the problems in this regard were questioned andsuggestions were made. It has been emphasized in the last part of the study, that Seferihisar District, which has completed the first phase of being amember of a cittaslow union, needs more municipal- citizen integration in orderto maintain its title as a cittaslow, to protect the locality and to avoidbeing lost in the globalization cycle.
