Bölgesel kalkınmanın temel dinamiği olarak kabul edilen çoğu üniversite, giderek artan düzeyde girişimci prensipleri uygulamaya çalışmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, girişimci üniversiteler ile bölgesel kalkınma arasındaki ilişkileri değerlendirmektir. Burada ilk olarak, üniversitelerin bölgesel kalkınmadaki önemine değinilmektedir. Daha sonra, girişimci üniversiteler olgusu, temel nitelikleriyle birlikte ele alınmaktadır.
