N2  - This study discusses the importance and the promising capacity of the encounter of the disciplinary approaches in social sciences and in history with the human centered research approaches, hermeneutics, life history studies and focuses on the contributions offered by the oral history approach. In this manner, it is not aimed to place the individual vis-a-vis society in an antimony, but rather to discuss the possibilities of how to view them in reflexivity and the importance of such approaches to be developed in the social sciences today. This article also tries to discuss te issues such as the basic motive behind oral history, life narratives as precious as the human life itself, human encounter and experience, and the basic values and ethical considerations in studying life history.
