AB  - Yıllar geçtikçeartan tür sayısı ile Çorakyerler, Anadolu Geç Miyosen’i için bir referanslokalite konumuna gelmiştir. Son derece zengin bir faunaya sahip olan bulokalitede son yıllarda yapılan kazı çalışmalarında iki adet Hystricidae (oklu kirpigiller) ailesinemensup materyal açığa çıkarılmıştır. 2015’e dek Çorakyerler’deki varlığıbilinmeyen bu üyeler, lokaliteyi daha zengin kılmış ve paleoekolojik yorumlaradestek sağlamıştır. Yapılan morfolojik çalışmalar ve plot diyagram analizlerisonucunda Çorakyerler oklu kirpi materyallerinin şu an için Hystrix sp. adı altında toplanması uygungörülmüştür. Anadolu’daki sınırlı sayıda lokalitede tanımlanmış olan bu genusiçin, Çorakyerler örneklerinin sonuçları oldukça kritik görünmektedir. Buörnekler genusun Turoliyen temsilcilerinin sistematik tanımlamasınınyapılabilmesi açısından son derece önemli konumdalardır.
