In theperformance evaluation process, it is very important to determine the correctmeasurement criteria. In this study, the performance measurement criteria weredetermined by reviewing the literature and interviewing experts and managers inthe shopping center sector. In the next step, the Analytical Hierarchy Process(AHP), a multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) method, was used to determinethe significance levels of these criteria and a new performance index model washereby developed. The proposed method consists of a total of 140 criteriaincluding six main criteria (green building, investors, visitors, tenants,shopping mall turnover, and social life) and 134 sub-criteria. As far as weknow, this study is the first to propose a model for measuring the performanceof shopping malls.
