KW - Genetik çeşitlilik KW - Köy tavuğu KW - Mikrosatellitler KW - Sinop N2 - In this study, we aimed to identify the geneticrelation between indigenous Gerze chicken population which is conserved inGerze district of Sinop province and village chicken populations which areraised in Sinop. We used 8 highly polymorphic microsatellite loci forexaminations. Animal materials of this study are total of 60 samples from 3village chicken populations raised in Ayancık, Boyabat and Gerze districts, and20 samples from Gerze chicken from the conserved population in Gerze districtof Sinop province. Expected heterozygosity (He) values in SinopGerze Village, Sinop Gerze (Hacıkadı), Sinop Ayancık Village and Sinop BoyabatVillage populations were calculated as 0.820, 0.755, 0.795 and 0.741,respectively. FIS values were predicted as -0.131, -0.195, -0.137 inLEI0166, MCW0034 ve MCW0069 loci and 0.178, 0.134, 0.766, 0.508, 0.433 inADL0278, LEI0234, MCW0080, MCW0104, MCW0330 loci respectively. Principalcoordinate and Structure analyses’ results showed that Gerze (Hacıkadın)population is genetically different from the other village populations. In thestudy, it was concluded that the chickens in the Gerze villages are not purebreed. Thus, pure breed raising is necessary to conserve this breed in theregion.
