In the one apple orchard of them, mass-trapping technique was applied by hanging one delta type of pheromone trap per one apple tree. In the second apple orchard which is near to first plot, apple trees were treated with chemicals against S.myopaeformis and the third one was chosen as control orchard. All the pupal skins on the large branches and trunk of the marked trees and the alive larvae found at the 30 cm height from the ground on the 3 marked trees were counted in these three plots between the years of 1994-1998 and 1996-1997 respectively. The results were evaluated by using population changing formula on the counts in the all 3 plots. The population S.myopaeformis was decreased as 56.79 and 93.35% in mass-trapping and treated plots, respectively during 1994 - 1998 according to the numbers of pupal skins in the plots; in these periods mass-trapping and chemical treatment could not be applied in 1995. On the other hand, alive larvae numbers were decreased at a rate of 69.44 % by two consecutive years trapping in 1996 and 1997. Otherwise, this decrease was found as 100.00 % in the chemical treated plot. Referring to these results; in apple orchards with lower populations delta type of pheromone traps can be used by setting one trap per tree in consecutive years for control of S.myopaeformis .}, number={3}
