We have defined new elements for the IMS platform to makethe learning system useful for end users (teachers, students, trainees). The system and functional architecturewith a detailed description of the functional entities is also presented. Proposed M/E-learning architecture isbased on the analysis of available Learning Management Systems and deep understanding of IMSarchitecture. Both areas are described for providing the background of the addressed environment of mobilelearning. The paper are also introduces usecases to illustrate the possibilities of the proposed m-learningplatform in applications for on-line training, flexible access to various multi-mediasources/applications/content, as well as in practical exercises based on remote access to NGNLab.eu, real labexercises and virtual lab exercises.
