But there are not enough study on itsconstituents, pharmacology and safety.CASE REPORT: This case report describes a 24-year-old female patientwas admitted to emergency service due tocomplaints of nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. Ictherus at sclera andsensivitiy on the right upper quadrant of abdomen were found on the physicalexamination. Blood tests revealed high liver function tests. The causes of jaundice and impaired liverfunction were all excluded and toxic hepatitis due to goji berry consumption wasconsidered in patient.CONCLUSION: Goji berry is a traditionalnutrient that is increasingly used for its various effects. To date, there are some articles declaredallergic reactions as toxic effect. To our knowledge this case is the firstpublication that goji berries can be toxic to the liver. Although largerstudies are required, it should be kept in mind that liver toxicity may occurduring intensive use.
