The patients diagnosed lung cancer between February 2007 and June 2009 were included into the study. 105 patients with lung cancer and 39 healthy individuals as "control group" were included. Serum CA-125 levels of the patients with lung cancer were measured in the determination of diagnosis, during the 3rd cure of chemotherapy and at the end of the treatment in the patients performed chemotherapy; and the CA-125 levels were measured approximately 1-3 months after the treatment in patients performed RT or had operation. CA-125 levels in the patients with lung cancer were 101.9 U/ml during the process following the determination of diagnosis and were 8.5 U/ml (p=0.000) in healthy control group. In patients progressing after the treatment, serum CA-125 levels were found significantly high (p=0.03). In the the evaluation of first response and after treatment in patients with lung cancer, serum CA-125 levels did not vary according to tumor cell type, tumor cell subtype and the stage of the disease. Serum CA-125 levels in patients with lung cancer is significantly higher compared to healthy individuals. This is not associated with the extensive of tumor and histopathology. High levels measured after the treatment is associated with the resistance to treatment.
